About Tara
As former ballet dancer I struggled to find a form of exercise that I connected with until I discovered Bikram Yoga. While it started off as exercise, it slowly became a journey of self-exploration. I knew from the first class that I wanted to become a yoga teacher.
I was certified as a Bikram Yoga Instructor in 2003 and I never imagined the amazing journey that it would take me on. I began teaching in my hometown of Santa Fe, and soon after took an amazing opportunity to teach Bikram Yoga in Hong Kong and then Singapore. After seven years in Asia, I returned to Santa Fe. Since my return I have studied Yin Yoga, Gentle Yoga, Therapeutic Yoga, and Vinyasa Yoga. For me, moving the body is one of the most important things we can do to feel good physically, mentally and emotionally. The physical practice of yoga creates the opportunity to create balance between mobility (Yin), as well as stamina and strength (Yang). Yin + Yang = Balance. As a teacher I would like to create a space where students are able to challenge themselves, while also listening to their bodies intelligence to create a therapeutic practice. |
